At the end of April, the President Kaljulaid Foundation launched its first international sports initiative, Her Turn, a leadership and development program bringing together 50 women working across the European sports sector.
The program was kickstarted in Tallinn, where 25 participants from 12 countries came together for the first time. Among those addressing the group were Emma Terho, the longtime chair of the International Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Commission; Mihail Dudaš, a former decathlete; Richard B. Stephenson, a leadership trainer in sport; and the Miltton experts Kira Hagström and Annika Arras. Also Kersti Kaljulaid, Estonia’s former president, spoke about her path to senior leadership.
Take a look at highlights from the opening meeting:
Her Turn aims to promote gender balance in sports leadership by supporting, empowering, and encouraging the professional development of women in sports management. The project will be implemented by the President Kaljulaid Foundation in cooperation with Miltton and Out of the Box International during 2025–2027. It is funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme.
