Another 34 young future leaders have graduated from the Democracy Academy, an initiative by the President Kaljulaid Foundation aimed at encouraging civic engagement among young people.

During the six-month programme, participants had the opportunity to meet with a number of influential leaders and public figures, including President Alar Karis, Markus Villig, Member of the European Parliament Jüri Ratas, Minister of Education and Research Kristina Kallas, Narva Mayor Katri Raik, actress Henessi Schmidt, as well as several members of parliament, political party representatives, experts and opinion leaders.

Special thanks to Sorainen and the European Commission Representation in Estonia for supporting the programme!

Over the past three years, nearly 100 young people have taken part in the Democracy Academy, launching close to 20 youth-led initiatives and projects.

The Democracy Academy is a six-month programme for young people who want to play a more active role in society, both now and in the future. Alongside leadership and teamwork training, the programme offers participants a deeper understanding of how Estonia’s state and democratic institutions function, while creating space for collaboration and new ideas driven by the issues young people care about most.
