We have dedicated significant efforts to support Ukraine both politically and practically. Our initiatives include raising funds to bolster Ukrainian free media, equipping orphanages with computers to enhance access to remote learning, and advocating for political pressure on international platforms. We stand alongside Ukraine until victory.
In 2022, after the start of the full-scale war, independent media of Ukraine lost much of their incomes but not their incredibly important mission. The President Kaljulaid Foundation rallied donations of 340,000 euros to aid journalists in Ukraine.
In 2023, the President Kaljulaid Foundation and the Estonian Embassy in Paris held a joint fundraiser for children’s education in war-torn areas. Together, we raised over 50,000 euros, which was used for buying and supplying over 100 computers for children’s homes in Zhytomyr oblast.
These initiatives, among others, represent our active role in Ukraine’s journey towards peace and prosperity.
